The 6th annual Ghana Paragliding Festival

This year I was priveledged with the opportunity to attend the 6th anual Ghana Paragliding Festival. It was a blast with great flying and some incredible experiences. We also were able to give back to the community through the Cloud Base Foundation and ended up raising over 10,000USD to help children around the flying site! It was my first time to Africa and a trip I won’t soon forget. Hope you enjoy the pictures and video. Thank you to the Ghana Tourist Board, Walter Neser and Sabrina Krewin for helping to organize such a great event, and all the hard working pilots involved.

And a short glimpse of some of the incredible photos captured by Becca and Loren; keep an eye on the upcoming mags for the goods:)

Learning to Fly – Again

As our subscribers know (well, those that have received Issue #16 by now at least), one of the Blue Skies Mag girls fell head over heals in love with paragliding a few weeks ago. That is one of the reasons this blog has been kind of quiet for the past week – I have been busy doing the fun stuff!

Below are a few pictures from a day flying on the sand dunes at Monterey Bay. Absolutely gorgeous place, friendly locals and a perfect site for a newbie like me, but still a lot of fun for the more advanced pilots.
If you have ever wanted to learn to paraglide, check out the guys at Cloud 9, just south of Salt Lake City, UT. They claim winter is an excellent time to learn, although if you live in Florida like we do, a trip to REI might be needed before hitting Utah. But don’t worry, they got that too just down the road.

Enjoy the photos – that is Scott Roberts of Slipstream Airsports flying his Little Cloud at the dunes.

Friday Flying Video

Because today we need to spend some time deep in thought over proofs, followed by doing some honest labor dragging furniture around the office, we are going to take the easy way out of the daily blogging duties, by presenting you with an awesome video.

Many skydivers know Scott Palmer – better known as Plamer. His twitter page introduces him as “a leading Skydiving Instructor known as the Guy who saved Travis Pastrana when he jumped out of a plane with no parachute”.
This video however is by Plamer’s little brother Cade. Word on the street is that Cade is as good of a paraglider as Plamer is a skydiver, so just go ahead, hit play, and enjoy some sweet video of cool kids paying in the sand.
