Your Rockin’ Memorial

If you’re not a skydiver, paraglider, BASE jumper, pilot, speed rider or aerial enthusiast of any kind, prepare for some odd-sounding morbidity. If you are one of the aforementioned freaks, we know you have a plan. A big plan. The ultimate plan, in fact: your memorial plan.

So, how do you want your friends and family to mark your passing? Do you have specific instructions on where your ash dive should be? How you want the party to go down? What music you want on the memorial DVD? A specific quote or saying for your gravestone?

Send your plans to me at lara@blueskiesmag.com, or post them here in the comments. We’ll print the best ones in our next issue.

Blog drought

Um yeah. Updating our blog has fallen a little bit by the wayside as all three Blue Skies Mag workers managed to overbook their schedules at the same time. Phew. But now that we are done with some awesome side projects (some of which you can feast your eyes up on at the PIA symposium), done running from Miami to Key West on a pretty much all-skydiver-relay-team, sorted out some plans for 2011, attended a holiday boogie or two and crossed off a million tasks on the never-ending to-do list, it’s time to hit the blog updates hard again.

So ladies and gentlemen…. start up your RSS readers or flex those refresh-button-fingers and get ready to feast your eyes on words, pictures and videos from Blue Skies Mag throughout all of 2011. It’s gonna be good.

Best thing about our office? That’s a tough one, but certainly up there on the list is working with the windows open and randomly hearing a big “Yahoo!” from the sky :)

Bobo Birthday Swoops

The PD Factory Team celebrated the end of their recent training camp – and team member Ian Bobo’s birthday! – with some swoops into the Deep Woods Ranch. Photographer Justin Carmody set up to capture the magic and we set up to capture the magic-capturing. Enjoy!

[Warning: extremely cute but annoying dog barks throughout this video. Loudly. Incessantly. Gratingly. You've been warned.]

For more of Justin’s photography, check out his website and the pages of Blue Skies Mag.
