Back to the topic at hand, Chris from right here in DeLand, brings us news of some low-key big-way action:

There is an informal group meeting Saturdays at Skydive Deland for introductory big-ways. Martin Sutton is organizing group skydives for people who want to learn and get experience on larger formation skydives. He has the blessing of the DZ and folks like Carl Daughtery who participates occasionally. Here is a link to my YouTube site to see my 399th and 400th skydives on the big-ways. It’s been a lot of fun and everyone is learning a lot. Anyone is welcome to attend no matter your skill level. Everyone is considered in the dive plan so there is the best chance of everyone being in and gaining confidence.

We so wish you could be here at Skydive DeLand to see the truly kickass sequentials going on. Our puny little video cameras just aren’t doing them justice, so we’ve brought in some HD big guns for Saturday. We’ll also try to sneak a little inside video footage from the camera team room. For now, enjoy some video interviews and this one of kids explaining what the skydivers are doing. [Note to self: kids are always funnier when the camera's not rolling.]

The morning started with a bit of low clouds at Skydive DeLand, but around mid morning loads were flying.

The formations being built are incredibly cool looking and the high clouds provide for a perfect backdrop for spectators on the ground.
We have been busy with our cameras all day so tonight we should have a few quick interviews and photos uploaded, featuring people from all over the world.

The Eagle team is about to take off now so I’m going to get ready to watch and maybe get some video of the landings, those are always fun to watch

If there is anyone in particular you would like to see us interview, make a note in the comment section and we will see what we can do!

Our trusty little Flip video camera is fantastic for things like interviews, but for recording aerial displays of ridiculous awesomeness from the ground…not so great. We did get a quick video of the landing area, though, and trust us, it’s no place for the weak.

Two teams enter, one team leaves. Given the solid lineups of the Kaleidoscope dives, which predatory bird team will kick more ass and take more names?
