Vigil issues 2 service bulletins: PSB-9 and PSB-10

Advanced Aerospace Designs – A.A.D. – makers of the Vigil automatic opener have released 2 new service bulletins:

PSB-9: Waterproof Inspection
Mandatory: has to do with the waterproofing of the unit. If a Vigil II Multimode (Civilan model) S/N 8021 or higher (DOM of 05 2007 or later) has been in contact or immersed in fluids, it must be returned to Vigil A.A.D. for an inspection before next jump.
Please note that Vigils that have not been in contact with water are not of concern – the Vigil II is waterproof and this bulletin a precautionary measure in case moisture penetrates the seal of the unit.

PSB-10: 14 Hour Automatic Shutdown
Advisory (not mandatory): intended for jumpers using a Vigil AAD II Multimode (Civilian Model) S/N 26172 or higher (DOM of 12 2011 or later).

ChutingStar DeLand looking for a rising star!

Part time gig selling gear in the Mecca of skydiving – DeLand, FL!

Retail superstore ChutingStar is looking for a part-time store clerk to hold the fort at their DeLand location (stones throw away from the DZ). This position may grow into a full-time one come winter.

One of the largest direct-marketers of skydiving gear is looking for a part-time Store Clerk for their Deland, FL store. This person must have good computer skills and a strong attention to detail.

• Process in-store orders, accept payment and process through the POS (point of sale) application.
• Handle transfer & shipping to other stores, receive products, manage inventory
• Pick up gear from local vendors
• Replenish and fulfill stock in store, package and ship customer orders

Y-Strap Mandatory on All UPT Tandem Harnesses

United Parachute Technologies has issued PSB 20132005 – Retractable Y Strap – Student Harness, making the previously optional y-strap mandatory on all UPT tandem harnesses by December 1, 2013.

COMPLIANCE DATE: The modification must be completed no later than December 1st, 2013. After that date, no tandem student harness which does not have the Y-Strap Retrofit installed is approved for use on any jump.

COMPLIANCE PROCEDURE: In an effort to reduce the financial impact on system owners, UUPT is selling the Y-Strap Retrofit components kit at its cost. The cost of a Y-Strap Retrofit components kit is
