Reader question: Have you ever grounded yourself?

Written by Lara

This month we want to talk more along the lines of that little voice. Whether you heard it or not, have you ever grounded yourself, for any reason?

Have you ever grounded yourself?

Maybe conditions were too sketchy, maybe that hangover wasn’t really gone, maybe someone told you they had a feeling you shouldn’t go? Bonus points if you got instant proof that you’d made the right call, like the load you were supposed to be on spontaneously combusted or that BFR really did go to shit.

Selected responses will be printed in the September 2017 issue (i93) of Blue Skies Mag. We edit lightly for clarity and/or style. You can also email responses to me, lara@blueskiesmag.com. Respond with the exact name you’d like us to use in print please.

  • I have grounded myself probably more than 100 times in the last 26 years.
Wind conditions being the most predominate reason.
    Mental note to Young skydivers……
If you see more experienced jumpers drinking beer and sitting at the landing area watch landings, it’s probably not a good idea to jump.

That Little person on your shoulder whispering in your ear telling you not to do it, probably has more common sense than yourself

What do you think?
