Speed Skydiving as a test event at 2012 Mondial

The International Parachuting Committee (IPC) announced via their newsletter that Speed Skydiving is on the roster for Mondial as a test event as well as being a part of the demonstration event.

10 experienced skydivers will take part, including Austrian Marco Wiederkehr, the current World Champion. Each competitor will have 3 jumps to go as fast as they can over a distance of 1000 meters. Speed is recorded using electronic measuring devices worn by the competitors.
