Head Up Record

Yes kids, 2012 will go down in history as the summer when freeflyers really decided that the whole “express yourself in the sky” was all good and well, but the real fun was in setting records. The summer of 2012 has been filled with head down state records, boogie records, dropzone records and lastly there was this little matter of a giant head down world record and the even larger Illinois state record.

Brian Buckland reports on his blog that freeflyers are now getting busy setting new records, as USPA has recently approved the head-up stuff as its own category for record-setting.

Head over to Brian Buckland’s blog to read his post from the event at Skydive Cross Keys in Williamstown, NJ, complete with a missing Otter emergency exit door, trials and tribulations in judging and of course for some incredible photos. Kid knows his way around a camera.

Below is a video shot by Daniel Croft, who was one of the participants in the record attempts.
